While we were closed this week we added some new displays at the shop. We now have a Great Wall of Yarn, a Beading Center, a new area for our Tools and Gadgets (don't you love gadgets?) and we've added to the sale bin as we make room for our new fall/winter yarns. Some of our market purchases came in....mostly new, terrific patterns and we expect more boxes to be delivered next week. As before, we have goodies arriving each week from now through September! I'll get a list prepared and posted on the website! Our July classes are posted on the website and August is in the works. The beading classes are so much fun and introduce you to quick projects that become beautiful pieces of jewelry. We've had offers to purchase our display pieces for a lot of money! Several of our ladies have a holiday list started with these in mind. In July, Knitting with Wire - FULL, Knitting with Beads - Open In the works... - Finalizing our Maryland Sheep & Wool Trip. Our email list will get first notice of trip details before I post to general public. And those who have called to put their name on the list will be called before email goes out. - Online Store - Yup, ShopKnitPicky will be introduced on August 1st (fingers crossed). We will open in four phases introducing basics as we build the yarn and pattern section.

 Knit Picky turned 2 and we had lots of ladies with us to celebrate!
Although I didn't win the Knit Off I had a really good time. During the Knit Off, a whole gaggle of ladies who are usually buzzing with conversation became so quiet that you could hear a pin drop! Can you tell?? Yup....the winner is among the group pictured here. She knitted 120 stitches in 3 minutes and bumped my 107 stitches out of the winner's circle! One person in this group is enjoying some KPY birthday cake. Yummmm! Tiffany (who TOOK the Knit Off competition away from me) is drawing for the $50 gift certificate. And the winner is MELINDA!!  Knitting Pure and Simple patterns arrived along with other new ones from Bryson! Cute?? Oh yeah! I'm thinking of using Twizzle by The Unique Sheep OR Pima Paints by Blue Ridge Yarns. Humm...winter version/summer version.
Also in the shop: fun gadgets from Nancy's Knit Knacks, Namaste' Bags, Lexie Barnes Bags, new buttons from Blue Moon and Renaissance. This sweater, called Montauk, was sooooo cute when we saw it at market. I'm a button fanatic and this uses mix-matched buttons. How clever! AND we just received our new buttons. Cute CAT buttons (like the dogs we've had before). This is on my list....now which yarn to use? "Tribecca" is classy. Where can we find a belt like that and will it fit my hips??!! | | | Wednesday, July 10th! Let's have an ice cream social on Wednesy's Knit Night!
