Customer Spotlight!

The year of the Royal Wedding is already making anything British all the rage!

Check out the back piece of The Union Jack sweater, knitted by our friend Sally, for her daughter! Sally special ordered her Berroco Ultra Alpaca yarn from us and it has proven to be a soft, lofty choice.

We have several customer knitting this very jacket and I look forward to seeing the finished item in person.

I'm very excited to tell you that Sam @ sKnitches has shipped us more Syncopation! We have The Carolina Blue, which goes out the door like a scalded TarHeel, and a special edition color just for us! Our very own Knit Picky colorway is popping with color and I can envision a cute cap, an adorable baby sweater or, of course, fabulous socks in time for spring clogs! But we need a name for this yarn....can you help us out? Best choice gets a free skein and we will post this competition on the blog for entries. We also have a SuperBowl competition on the blog so be sure to check it out!

The shop is warm and cozy and the bins are filled with new yarns & fibers! This year, we held off on some late shipments in December so inventory wouldn't be so painful (and it worked). But then, our bins looked sad...empty...and hungry for yarn. But no more! Stop in soon and choose a fabulous new project from the assortment of new yarns available now at Knit Picky. And join us for a class, we always have fun!

This Chullos Hat uses 6 different colors and you can probably get 2 hats out of this batch of yarn easily. This plump yarn knits softly into a beautiful piece of cohesive fiber. Cascade 220 sport sells for a pleasing $4.25. One of our Happy New Year delights!

A Year In Stitches

Join the Group or Knit-A-Long with us!

Imagine this blanket, painted with colors you love, but in new and unique stitches. That's what we'll be doing in our new monthly workshop called A Year in Stitches.

Our group starts tomorrow and we may have a few spaces open for you..... (768-5599). But if not, this is a free pattern on Berroco's website and we have a fabulous selection of Berroco's Vintage Chunky that we'll be using instead of the worsted it calls for. Chunky means fun, fast knitting! And we can always set up a second group if we get enough interest!!

Many of you share the Knit Picky experience with others and that helps keep us going. Do you have anyone special that may want to starting knitting or crochet? To set up a relaxing group lesson among friends, we only need 3 participants and can take up to 6. You pick your dates & times!

Telling new people about the shop is a perfect way for you to help us succeed as a small, local business. Thanks for your continued support, your talents and all that you do!

Welcome new shop girls.....Nina (Tuesday afternoons), Linda (Thursday afternoons), and Carol (on Saturdays). And a big thank you to my wonderful hubby who volunteers and does just about whatever we ask him to do.
